Aren't you just so excited about Wimbledon fortnight? To me, it is so very British and special - a real moment of high summer.
Two weeks of excitement, passion, drama, and of course last but not least strawberries and cream. Somehow Wimbledon manages to welcome you to the centre court even if you are not there and share in the thrills and spills of a truly wonderful event.
Don't you just love the sound of a tennis ball being hit by the strings of a tennis
racquet? It really is THE sound of summer !
Whether it's speed, power, spin, ball placement or footwork - it is just the most exciting of games. In fact, there can't be many games that neutrals enjoy watching and for two weeks experience a very healthy addiction.
I didn't realise that when hit correctly the ball can travel at over a hundred and forty two miles an hour!!!
There is also the dedication of the athletes (both male and female) who become almost alien-like in their superhuman ability.
Wow, two weeks of it!!
