QUEEN ELIZABETH ll 1926 TO 2022

Dear Denners,

All of us at Denner would like to add our voice to the many in tribute to our late Queen.

A remarkable woman who meant so much to so many. She will be particularly remembered by those of the Second World War generation, who along with her family gave so much hope in Great Britain’s darkest hour.

As Queen she will be remembered for her sense of duty, commitment, loyalty and ceaseless endeavour. In her seventy-year reign she saw so much and mellifluously fitted in to enormous social change. She also dealt with the sadness and hubris that in seventy years is inevitable.

From a personal point of view, she always struck me as someone who was totally comfortable in any situation. I had a sneaking suspicion that she would have been quiet at home popping out for a take- away and putting her feet up and enjoying “Game of thrones” or meeting the Pope. In summary Great Britain is richer in so many ways for having her as Queen.

As author of this blog it was my personal privilege to write a tribute blog for her seventieth jubilee.

I was also very touched by Charles III ‘s moving tribute from Hamlet.“

"May flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest"

Thank you, ma’am, for so much.

Long live the King.
