
Cashmere Care Guidelines
Cashmere is an exquisitely soft and luxurious fibre, deserving of thoughtful care to preserve its beauty and longevity. Please follow the care recommendations below:
Pre-Wash
• Turn the garment inside out
• Always test for colour-fastness on a discreet area.
• Refer to the care label for specific guidance
• If permitted by the care label, 2-ply cashmere may be machine washed using a 30°C wool or delicate cycle.
• Heavier 4-ply and 6-ply cashmere, as well as pashmina shawls and scarves, should be hand washed or dry cleaned.
• Silk-blend cashmere is particularly delicate and should not be machine washed, even if indicated on the label.

Cashmere Washing
General Principles
• Wash similar colours together; avoid mixing dark and light shades.
• Do not wash alongside garments with zips or abrasive fastenings.
• Refrain from using fabric softeners or bleach.
• Minimise agitation to prevent fibre damage.
Hand Washing with Denner Cashmere ‘No Rinse’ Shampoo
• Fill a basin with tepid water (approximately 30°C).
• Add 1 tsp of shampoo per 4 litres of water (more for soiled items).• Soak garment for 15 minutes.
• Gently squeeze out excess water.
• Do not rinse.
Hand Washing with Rinseable Wool Detergent
• Use lukewarm water (30°C) with a small amount of gentle wool detergent.
• Submerge the garment and soak for 5–10 minutes, gently agitating occasionally.
• Rinse thoroughly with cool water until all detergent is removed.
• Press out excess water carefully—do not wring.

More Cashmere Washing
Machine Washing (Front-loading) with Denner's ‘No Rinse’ Shampoo
• Choose a delicate or wool cycle with cold water.
• Add 5ml (1 tsp) of shampoo to the detergent drawer.
• Load the garment and commence the cycle.
Machine Washing (Top-loading) with Denner's ‘No Rinse’ Shampoo
• Fill the machine with tepid water.
• Add 5ml (1 tsp) of shampoo per 4 litres of water.
• Stop the machine, load the garment, and gently squeeze to ensure saturation.
• Allow to soak for 30 minutes.
• Bypass the rinse cycle and proceed with a gentle spin to extract water.
Machine Washing with Rinseable Wool Detergent
• Place the garment in a mesh laundry bag.
• Use a wool or delicates cycle at 30°C with a mild detergent.
• Set spin speed to a low setting (maximum 600 rpm).

Care After Washing
Drying
• Gently reshape the garment while damp.
• Lay flat on a clean, dry towel to air dry.
• Avoid hanging, as this may distort the shape.
• Do not tumble dry.
• Keep away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
Pressing
• Use a low-heat iron to press the garment.
• Do not steam or apply prolonged pressure, which may stretch or deform the fibres.

More Tips
Storage
• Gently brush or shake to remove dust before storing.
• Ensure the garment is completely dry to prevent moth damage.
• Use cedar wood balls, blocks, or anti-moth sprays for protection.
• Fold neatly and store in a breathable cotton or linen bag.
• Avoid hanging cashmere, as this may cause stretching or distortion.
• Store in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight.
Wearing
• When layering under outerwear, ensure the outer garment has a smooth lining.
• Avoid placing items in inner pockets that may cause abrasion or pilling.
