A plain knitted hat in 100% Mongolian cashmere. Made in Mongolia, in a factory we own, from fibre gathered by hand by the families who herd the goats it comes from.

There is no pattern or trim on it, which is the reason it goes with everything already in the wardrobe.

Description

Fine enough to fold flat into a pocket, and to wear without flattening your hair. Wear it with a coat and a scarf through the winter. The hat that goes with every coat you own, which is the whole idea.

Spun and knitted in our own factory in Ulaanbaatar, then linked, washed and finished by hand.

Standard UK sizing — take your usual size. Between sizes and prefer a closer fit? Size down.

Composition

100% Mongolian cashmere, 2-ply

Combed by hand each spring from goats that winter on the Mongolian steppe. 2-ply yarn gives a denser, warmer knit that softens with wear.

Care instructions

Always follow the care label inside this hat. It has the washing instructions for this exact piece.

Hand wash cool with a cashmere shampoo, or use a wool cycle at 30°C in a mesh bag. Do not wring; dry flat away from heat and store folded. A little pilling in the first weeks is natural and lifts off with a cashmere comb.

Grazing pressure on the steppe is real, and no single company solves it by buying well. What we can promise is specific.

We have bought fibre from the same families for over thirty years.

We answer for every stage ourselves, from washing the fibre to finishing the hat.
